Hi, my name is Mark (Fletch)
Fletcher, and after having being involved in print and design since pretty much leaving school, this website represents a mere snapshot of my varied career.
Luckily for me; digital design and desktop publishing was in it's infancy when I came into the industry. So my early years of shooting negatives and sticking photographic paper onto art boards, getting covered in cow gum and wax (you had to be there), were soon replaced with getting to grips with Photoshop, Pagemaker and Freehand.
(By the way those early versions were an absolute nightmare... The Mac would crash if you just looked at it the wrong way!)
Obviously programmes have become a lot more stable these days, and with the ability to work with transparent layers in InDesign and Illustrator, creating more interesting multi-textured designs has become a whole lot easier.
In past incarnations I have worked retouching a number of the quality publications on the newsagents shelves and I have also had the privilege of working generally on some large global brands in my days working for agencies in London.
I guess my next revelation came with advent of quality digital print and the idea of non-fixed images and text. I've been lucky to work for companies pushing the parameters and idea of variable and personalised print.
Most of my life, I have mainly been involved with artwork, design and production, although more recently that has extended through to video and digital advertising.
